Ligue 1 clubs are contending with a number of significant injuries as the season reaches its crucial stages. Nice have been particularly affected, with Youssouf Ndayishimiye and Mohamed Abdelmonem each missing 20 fixtures. Losing two defensive players for this duration has forced constant adaptation at the back.

Lyon are managing without Ernest Nuamah, also absent for 20 fixtures, and more recently saw both Justin Kluivert and Pavel Sulc miss their latest match. The accumulation of absences is testing Lyon's squad depth at a time when consistency is essential.

Toulouse have been without Ibrahim Azizi for 20 fixtures, while Lorient lost Ibrahim Toure for the same period, a blow to their campaign.

Brest had questions over Romain Labeau Lascary and Junior Mwanga Diaz for their latest fixture, adding to the uncertainty around team selection.

Auxerre were also depleted, missing both Rafael Rodin and Theo Devernois.

The physical demands of Ligue 1 combined with European commitments for some clubs create a challenging environment for player fitness. Smart squad management and youth development, a traditional strength of French football, become even more valuable in these circumstances.
