SC Freiburg went unbeaten in their first four Bundesliga matches and did not drop points until their trip to Frankfurt. The 2-2 draw with Eintracht did not, however, take the shine off their strong start to the season. Julian Schuster’s side have 10 points and sit third in the table. In Frankfurt, they came from behind twice, with Derry Scherhant the star of the show. The winger scored to make it 1-1 and later assisted Yuito Suzuki’s goal.
Freiburg can also be pleased with the state of their squad. Patrick Osterhage, who had been dealing with muscular problems, has returned to training with the team. Florent Muslija is also expected to be available for the next match. The midfielder has yet to feature this season, but his return gives Schuster another option in the middle of the park.
After four matches, Freiburg have scored 12 goals and conceded just three. Next up is a meeting with Schalke, who have collected five points so far. Freiburg will be looking to take another step forward and stay near the top of the table.
